DEBORAH A. FAUVER
Deborah focuses her practice on estate planning, probate, and trust administration. Her philosophy is that careful planning can minimize the family confusion and discord caused by death, and further, that the financial cost of planning typically outweighs the eventual cost of failing to plan.
Deborah focuses her practice on estate planning, probate, and trust administration. Her philosophy is that careful planning can minimize the family confusion and discord caused by death, and further, that the financial cost of planning typically outweighs the eventual cost of failing to plan. Deborah works closely with her clients, and their other advisors (accountants, financial planners, insurance agents) to create and implement estate plans. Her goal is to help clients structure a workable plan that takes into account the needs, resources, and dynamics of each individual family.

Deborah works with families to organize and transfer assets from one generation to the next, emphasizing client participation and understanding of the process. She routinely works with clients who have recently received a diagnosis of impending dementia or other disability. Crafting a plan can involve powers of attorney for health care and for finances, discussion of home care and nursing care options, and planning for an eventual Medicaid application.
In the probate context, Deborah practices primarily in Carroll and Coos counties, and works closely with court staff and clients to streamline the probate process as much as possible. Her approach is to tailor each representation to the needs of a particular family, allowing family members who choose an active role to assist in the process and minimize attorney time and fees.
Deborah’s years of experience in the probate courts, with estate issues, guardianships, and family conflict leading to court-ordered sales and divisions of real estate, help her clients, who run the gamut from multi-millionaires to low-income single parents.
In the real estate context, Deborah has reviewed hundreds of titles, and has a particular interest in the history of Carroll County, and in the establishment of disputed boundaries. She has worked closely with the various survey companies in Carroll and Coos Counties. She has also taken an active role with many of the firm’s condominium and homeowners association clients.
Prior to joining the firm, Deborah worked as an associate attorney in the law practice of Pamela D. Albee, as a freelance writer for Dolan Media (legal publications) and as a law clerk to the New Hampshire Superior Court. Prior to law school, she covered Carroll County as a reporter/ photographer for the Manchester Union Leader.
