Tyler has a broad-based corporate practice advising entrepreneurs, start-ups and small to mid-market companies in all stages of business law to help clients form, grow and sell their business.
Armed with an MBA and in-house corporate counsel experience, Tyler’s primary areas of practice include business and real estate transactions, commercial lending, intellectual property and employment law.
Prior to returning home to the North Country, Tyler practiced in Providence, Rhode Island and was recognized by SuperLawyers as a “Rising Star” and was a recipient of Providence Business News’ “Forty under 40” award for career accomplishments and community service.
Tyler has effectively represented clients in the following transactions:
Represented client in $2.3 million acquisition of a 60,000 square foot multi-use facility including lease negotiations and closing the acquisition through use of traditional senior and bridge loans.
Filed hundreds of trademark applications for various industries including hospitality, health care, retail services, beverages and manufacturing, among others.
Assisted in representation of a hotel portfolio company in the acquisition of over 10 hotels valued in total over $100 million in the New England region.
Negotiated ten-year License Agreement on behalf of licensee involving well-known worldwide outdoor apparel brand.
Served as counsel to a start-up beverage company including negotiations involving venture capital financing, trademark analysis, supply contract and trade secret protection.
Led the roll-out of a non-competition, non-solicitation and invention agreements program across large Multinational Corporation.
Spearheaded the transfer of trademarks related to a multi-faceted, international acquisition in the musical product industry involving a portfolio of over 75 trademarks in more than 50 countries.
Led the drafting, due diligence, regulatory and real estate issues associated with the $35 million dollar private equity investment into a pharmaceutical manufacturer.
Represented client in employment discrimination cases, including the drafting of position statements and attending mediation, at the Rhode Island and Connecticut Human Rights Commission.
Managed substantial trademark portfolio of a professional audio products company including trademark responsibility in a half-dozen worldwide brand acquisitions.
Drafted employee handbooks for over 2 dozen clients ranging from 10 employee companies to non-profits to a publicly traded company.

Tyler joined Cooper Cargill Chant in 2014 as a business attorney after spending the past ten years practicing in Providence, Rhode Island. Tyler’s move to the North Country is a return home as he is from nearby Bridgton, Maine. Tyler lives in North Conway with his wife and two young sons. Outside of work Tyler is an avid backcountry skier, mountain biker and triathlete, recently completing an Ironman in Lake Placid, NY.
